We began working on our displays last Saturday. Our team is the Pi Gamma Eagles. The kids were making a nest to place on top of their mountain.
Justin, Jeremy, and Clint were paiting the mountain, which was made of chicken wire and brown bulletin board paper.
This is Cassie working on our banner, which displayed our team name, verse, and Pi Gamma letters.
Here's Bruce and Justin spray painting the eagle Bruce made.
Clint drew the eyes on the eagle.
Yesterday was another workday. Michael and Garrett helped Clint and Justin hang our clouds.
And Cassie continued working on the banner.
Ethan, Nathan, and Nathaniel worked on their team display, which was the Nu Delta Fishermen.
Our team colors are brown and yellow. Cassie stenciled yellow eagles on brown T-shirts. They turned out really great!
Justin, one of our newbies in SIGMA, is doing great! I hope he keeps up the good work.
It wasn't all work on workday.
This picture cracked me up. The haze you see was not caused by my camera. It was caused by all the spray paint the kids were using.
This is the Nu Delta banner.
Elizabeth and Nathan working on the Fishermen display.
Dana Weaver and her husband, Brother Chris, are the sponsors of the Nu Delta team. She's working on fish for the banner.
This is Michelle. She and her husband, Brother Jeff, are helping in SIGMA this year. It was her birthday yesterday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHELLE!
Michaela enjoyed her chicken nuggets and fries that Brother RJ brought back for her when he picked up lunch for everyone. Michaela is Brother RJ and Mrs. Liz's oldest child.
This was Hannah's dessert. Just click here to find the recipe at Blogger's Recipes.
The kids were dismissed from church a few minutes early so they could come eat before the rest of the church got down there.
I printed off something about the eagle that I found here at Anne's blog and Monica, one of the Pi Gamma Eagles, passed them out as people entered the fellowship building.
Mrs. Liz and Michaela and Sis Crystal were pouring drinks.
The Fishermen were in place ready to yell at the Eagles.
And of course, the Eagles were in place yelling at the Fishermen.
This was Hannah's first SIGMA Rush Night. She had a really good time.
More taunting from the Fishermen...
The fun came to an end, the judging was over, and the Pi Gamma Eagles won by just 30 points. It was a close run.
