Moon River

Although Hannah enjoys playing the piano, she doesn't like to play for people. So I had to sneak this video. She's playing Moon River by memory from a song book that came with my piano. Even when she plays for her daddy he has to turn his eyes away from her. And if people are talking and laughing she's fine. But if everyone gets quiet to listen, she loses her concentration.

We'll be going to another youth conference this weekend at Brother Tony Hutson's church. Last year, this meeting began a revival in our young people and we have seen over fourteen of them saved this year. We are looking forward to this trip and the meetings we will be attending while we're there.

Pray for safe travels and that the Lord will continue working in hearts. Pray for us, the adults, to be sensative to the Holy Spirit and attentive to the needs of the young people.

This is one of my favorite youth choir songs. Crystal and Mark sing the verses on this song and do a fantastic job of it.

Deep Thought

Maybe in order to understand Mankind, we
have to look at the word itself. Mankind. Basically, it's
made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind." What do these words
mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Youth Choir, I Just Stopped By

I told you that our youth choir went to sing at a youth meeting Saturday. Here's LeAnna singing I Just Stopped By with the Sons of Faith and the choir backing her.

Because North Carolina requires us to test our children, we will be testing this week. So I won't be posting much, except maybe some videos of the youth choir and something from Deep Thoughts.

To See the Mommy!

With Amanda being in the hospital, some of us in the church are helping her and Brother Chris with the girls. It's been especially hard on little Carissa not being able to see her mommy.

Hannah put the tent up for them the other night and she liked that. Around 2:30 am, she started screaming for mommy. Poor thing. She was so pitiful. She woke up again Wednesday night, about the same time, but this time she only cried for a few seconds before drifting back to sleep.

Hannah enjoyed having the girls to mother. She's really the one that took care of them the whole time. Not because I asked her to, but because she just kind of took over tending to their needs. It was really sweet watching her "mother hen" the little ones.


Carissa LOVES Bruce and when he's home sitting on the couch, you'll find her snuggled up next to him.


And eventually, you'll find the two of them napping.


Mrs. Janet was taking these beautiful flowers to Amanda from the church today so I asked if the girls and I could tag along so they could see their mommy. Plus I knew Amanda was needing to see them too.


Amanda's sister Kaylynn and their daddy rode with us on the church van. Look at Carissa's face. She was so happy we were going to see mommy. She started singing "Driving up the road, driving up the road, Driving up the road...." LOL


Celine was ready to give her mommy a great big hug and the cookies Mrs. Tammy helped her bake when they stayed with Mrs. Tammy Monday.


The trip to Charlotte is always an experience. There are so many one way roads that it is easy to get turned around. Mrs. Pam also went with us and offered to take the GPS, but Mrs. Janet printed instructions from Map Quest so she declined. But like I said, it's very easy to get turned around there, so we ended up here.....

...and here...


..and many other places before Mrs. Janet finally figured out where we were and we made it to the hospital. Julie and Emily were following us, poor girls! I just knew they were wondering what in the world we were doing. But come to find out, they were just as lost as we were. LOL

Look at those beautiful eyes. She can look straight into your soul, this one can.


Amanda is still on a clear liquid diet, progressing to solids little by little. They brought her lunch, which included chocolate pudding with whipped cream. Celine was happy about that, knowing that her mother does not like chocolate. So that it wouldn't go to waste, she was happy to eat it for her mommy. She told her mother a while ago referring to chocolate, "If you'll just try it and try it and try it, eventually you'll like it!"


Celine couldn't get close enough to her mommy today. She sure did enjoyed seeing Amanda, snuggling up next to her, and having serious discussions. :)


We ate lunch at the hospital cafeteria and ran an errand before heading home. Carissa was asleep before we left the first level of the hospital parking garage. Seeing her mommy put some fears to rest and she was able to sleep the long ride home.

Celine was happy to listen to my iPod on the way home. Here she is singing God Is Bigger Than the Boogie Man. She doesn't know all the words, but the words she does know, she sings. HA!

The Only Fire I'll Ever Feel

This is Vintage Faith singing The Only Fire I'll Ever Feel...is burning in my heart.

Brother Johnny sings lead on this song. He's our associate Pastor. They sang this at our Missions Conference Tuesday night.

Here's another video of the young men's bluegrass group playing Sunday night. Well, young men and one old one. hehehe....just pickin' Brother Mike! Get it? "pickin'?" Bluegrass? never mind.

I'm really proud of all the boys, but two in particular. Mark and Justin have been playing for a while but Clint and Gary have only been taking lessons for a little while. Clint's been playing banjo over a year (Crystal, please correct me if I'm wrong on that. There's been quite the debate here about it this morning lol) and Gary has just taken up the fiddle not more than just a few weeks ago. Both of these boys are quiet and somewhat shy and I know it took a lot for them to get up there. So keep on working at it, boys!

Here they are playing I'll Fly Away. Justin is singing lead on this one. He sings tenor on the chorus, which I was really surprised to hear him do that. I don't think he's sung tenor in a while. Mark sang lead on Will The Circle Be Unbroken.

This past Saturday we met at Bruce's mother's house for some family time. The menu was whatever take-out your family brought.

Saturday night was Brother Arthur's last night with us for revival. He still preached old time, campmeetin' style, but the emphasis was on youth. There were several churches that brought their youth groups to join us.


Our youth choir sang I Just Stopped By. LeAnna sings the lead on this and does a FANTASTIC job with the Sons of Faith harmonizing and the choir backing her up. I've wanted to get a video of this song, but Mrs. Carolyn recruited me into the youth choir to help the little ones figure out their part. So, maybe I'll get a video of it soon.



This is our youth choir. There was a good number of our kids out with the flu and other sickness. We missed having them with us that night.


Another song the youth choir was going to sing was I Remember The Day. Pastor asked that all the visiting teens that knew that song and remembered the day Jesus saved them, to come up and sing with our youth choir. It sounded SO GOOD!


After the service, we went down to the fellowship building where we fed our teens and visiting churches pizza, desserts, and sodas.
Do you recognize these young ladies? The one in the middle is Holly and the one on the right is Katie from 2 Sisters. They used to go to our church. We miss them a whole bunch at Faith and wish they could be there every service!!!
The girl on the left is another young lady that used to attend our church and is now serving with her family at a sister church. It was great seeing her too.
All of these girls are very sweet and we love 'em bunches!! Justin had a great time talking with y'all and hopes to see you again soon.


We had lunch with friends after church today at El Titanic. It was very yummy, to say the least. At the PM service, Justin's new bluegrass group, Living By Faith, debuted their group. You know Mark and Justin play in the other groups, but the other boys are Clint (banjo) and Gary (fiddle). And then the oldest of these young men is Brother Mike, Gary's dad. They did such a great job. It was a blessing seeing another generation being raised up for the glory of God.

You can't see Clint good in the picture or the video at the bottom of this post, but I was able to catch a shot of him with the "front porch boys."


We had Baptisms for six people. Jeremy just got saved and wanted to be baptized. I was proud of him. He's such a great kid!


This young lady is in our bus ministry. I led her to the Lord the other week.

Then there was Bailey. He's in daddy's SS class and he's such a riot.


This is a newer convert also. She just found out that she is in the fourth stage of bre*st cancer. Please pray for her. I'll say she hasn't allowed it to keep her from worshipping and praising the Lord.

Another Jeremy (only quite smaller than the first) was also baptized. This kid is too funny for words sometimes.

Kendra is the daughter of our church secretary and one of our bus drivers, Mrs. Janet and Brother Greg. It was a blessing seeing her baptized.

Brother Billy was baptized and came up shoutin! He's been such a blessing to just watch during the service.


After the PM service, our SS class went to the fellowship building to celebrate Tammy's birthday. She has been married for 10 years, has three children, and is only eight years old. In case you're wondering, she was a leap year baby!

Once again, Amy outdid herself on this Princess Cake. Isn't it cute? It tasted good too.

We played a game of 20 questions that Rebecca made up. I called out the questions and everyone had to answer them. They were pretty hard questions!

Revival and SIGMA

We are in revival with Brother Joe Arthur this week and last night was great! He preached a terrific sermon on the fire and how God uses it to empty us, empower us, and entreat us, using illustrations of the times the Bible says Peter was by the fire. Oh, it was good! I'm looking forward to tonight.




Here's some pics from SIGMA Wednesday night. The Eagles were doing a skit here. I believe this one was when Peter was walking on the water and lost his faith. Justin was Peter.



Here they are doing a game of fast-paced pictionary with a twist. Brother RJ gave them so much time to do as many Bible drawings as they could while their team shouted out the answers. It was pretty interesting to say the least.

LeAnna is a pretty good artist, I must say! I have no idea what that other character is wearing. LOL

We've had a great deal of people sick in our church with the flu. I'm sure you're all experiencing it where you live also. It's been very bad, hasn't it?
