Thimble Thoughts

I had the opportunity of keeping the Parris children today. Oh what FUNNY kids they are. And busy, busy, busy!! LOL

Now, tell me....which one is cutest??

When Brother RJ dropped the children off, he told me that Sam had a thing for computers. While he was telling me this, Sam had already found our desktop and was trying to figure out how to get it on. Fortunately, we had this little V-tech laptop that was just right for him. He played with it pretty much all day today. Doens't he look serious? He and Michaela were fighting over it today until we found him sitting alone with it in the kitchen facing a corner. It was so funny. And speaking of Michaela, I got one picture of her and that was by chance when she FLEW into the living room and FLEW right back out. So it was blury. lol

The children were down for a nap when Amanda, Celine, and Carissa came for a visit. We just sat on the couch and talked. It was so nice. It's been a long time since either of us have had any kind of one on one with each other. I've missed seeing her through the week, so it was nice having her here.

Between the eight children, poor Harley was dragged, strangled, pinched, pulled, sat on, chased, and pretty well tortured all the way around. When Michaela, Sam, and Ashlyn were gone, he found Carissa passed out on the couch and decided this was a great time to rest. Bless his heart, he was finding all sorts of hiding places today. Behind doors, under tables, behind the couch. Any place that looked safe from small hands. LOL

Ever feel like this?

This is Amanda and Carissa. I post pics of the girls often enough, but they do have a mother. HA!

Celine found Harrison's mask. BAT GIRL!

Even after Carissa had woken up and gone, Harley slept.....and slept.....and slept. Doesn't he look peaceful?
I think I'll do the same.

Friday's Child

Ashlyn rose just before the sun this morning.

She took a bottle and we left to clean mom's house.

By the time we got to mom's house, daylight had broken through.

Mom was able to love on her for a little bit, the way that only a Grandmother can. Then we snuggled her like a bug in a run in the "big bed." All the grandbabies love Maw Maw and Paw Paw's big bed. Ashlyn was no different.
When she woke up, Hannah fed her some cereal.

After breakfast, Hannah changed her diaper and got her dressed for the day. Then they played for a while.

Harrison wanted me to take pictures of the shetland ponies at the Double Deuce Mini Farm close to mom and dad's house.

On my way home, I passed daddy on his way home from dialysis so I turned around and followed him back to this old coutry store where he buys hot sandwiches.

When we got home, it was still early so I freshened up so Ashlyn and I could go grocery shopping. Hannah and Harrison stayed with Paw Paw, had lunch with him at McDonald's, and then drove down with him to the gas station to fill up.
When we got back home from grocery shopping, I fed Ashlyn lunch and then she played for a while.

Bruce has enjoyed having a baby in the house too. It's been wonderful.

What a sweet smile. This is what we see most of the time.

Babies, Piano Lessons, and Farm Animals

We've had the most wonderful time with little Ashlyn today. She's so sweet and content. After her nap this afternoon, she decided she was ready to eat. So she ate some sweet taters and nannas. She really didn't like the bananas that well, but she did try a few bites before she started spitting them out. She finished up with a bottle and fell back to sleep for a cat nap.

Later this evening, we took Hannah to the church for piano lessons.

On the way home, I took some pictures of some of the animals on our road. This cow was next to the fence, but when I pulled over to take the picture, she got scared and walked away.

This horse had its nose down in the ground so I started making noises and she looked up. They'll come to you if you walk up to the fence. This one looks new, I haven't noticed her before. Their horses are usually not this skinny. I'm sure she'll be nice and healthy looking soon.

And then of course there's the donkey and horse that have lived here on our road since before we moved here fourteen years ago. They seem to be good friends. However, just last week I saw the donkey nudging the horse in the side and the horse turned and huffily nudged back. Let's just say it looked as though they were having a bit of a spat.

When we got home, I fed the baby, gave her a bath, rubbed her down with baby lotion, dressed her in soft warm jammies, and gave her a very warm bottle as we rocked in quiet. She fell fast asleep and is bedded down for the night. I should see her bright little eyes between 5:00 and 7:00 tomorrow morning.

So with that being said, I'm hitting the sack now. A baby's wants and needs sometimes come pretty early in the morning.

Lovin' It

Guess what I get to keep until Saturday afternoon!!!!

A sweet little bundle of joy!

When I picked Justin up from work yesterday, we ran a couple of "must do today" errands, raced home to eat supper, shower, and get ready for church.

He was happy to have a paycheck before leaving on his trip to Tennessee this morning. See him smiling?

Justin left with the Poston family and we met our Youth Pastor's family at the church to pick up their wee one. After one carseat, a stroller, playmat, pak-n-go bed, three diaper bags, and feeding instructions, she was all mine! Oh what fun we're already having with her! Harrison wanted to be the first one to feed her a bottle.

Then it was my turn. She guzzled down six full ounces and very unlady like gave a HUGE burp. It cracked us all up.

After a bottle, a diaper change, a little lovin', and snuggling, she drifted off into sweet dreams. Don't you wish you could rest this peaceful?
