Whose New Coin?

Whose new coin is it? The American Athiest (aren't those words ironic together) who fears no true and living God? The American Christian who weeps prayers for their country? I suppose in retrospect, it doesn't belong to any one race or religion. However, the United States of America
was founded on Christianity. The core of it's existence was because our forefathers put their trust in God.

These are the new coins, my friends. No where on the front and back of these coins will you find the words "In God We Trust." No doubt, this is to suffice the above named God-haters whose voices are obviously heard louder than ours. But simmer down, Christian, they have appeased us by adding "In God We Trust" to the edge of the coin. Yes, the EDGE! No doubt these four words will eventually rub off in our pockets as God is being rubbed out of our nation.

Will I collect these coins? Absolutely not. If I am given one in the store for change, I'll hand it back. Or better yet, keep the coin and send it back to the US Mint on account of flaws. Now there's an idea for Christians. Can you imagine the uproar that would cause if we would all send a $1 coin back to the US Mint for flaws??

And then after I send my coin back to the US Mint, I'll be sure to get one more to place along side an older, more God honoring $1 coin. As a reminder of where our nation once was and where it is today. What have I done as a Christian to prevent this from happening? Apparently not enough.

A friend ((((hugs to you)))) pointed out that these words were not on our monies until the 1950's. I suppose this wouldn't bother me so badly if they had never been placed there to begin with. But they were. And for a reason. However, just twelve years later our nation began to take a different turn by removing prayer from school. Now look at us! Looking at the coin on the Internet, you can see the words clearly. But here is what my mother, who works at a bank, had to say after actually seeing one Monday.

"The coin I saw on Monday looks so very cheap. You cannot even read the
words In God We Trust. I think as Christians we have given it all away by
not fighting for what is ours to keep."

Edited Wednesday Evening: Referring to how the words "In God We Trust" were taken from the face of the dollar and placed around the edge, Bruce COINED this thought, "People can't FACE it, so they're trying to get AROUND it."

A Bloggy Birthday

Courtney was kind to remind me a couple of weeks ago that my Bloggy Birthday was coming up. It did in fact come and I still forgot. February 24th was Thimble Thought's first birthday. Now that I've remembered and in keeping with what most of y'all have done, I'm going to ask my lurkers and anonymous commenters to please leave a comment.

My site meter shows I have visitors from Romania, Germany, China, Venezuela, Canada, and India. As well as stateside visitors from Missouri, California, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Nebraska, Florida, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Alabama, Arizona, and my own home state of North Carolina, just to name a few!

I know where you're coming from, but would like to know who you are. You don't have to leave your name....just please tell me hi!!

And let's not forget about those coming from Japan. My dear, sweet, wonderful, precious, Sister Heather, is there and always stops by with a sweet word and bit of love. She's just my all time favorite. I adore HER!!!!!!
