Another Retraction

Remember when I said that I did not want to be linked to Peter Ruckman by saying I was KJB? Well, I'm going to retract that. I still don't want to be linked to Ruckman. He's a weirdo. And I still want to caution those that are getting caught up in his teachings or are friends with those that are Ruckmanites.

But Brother Jim, from Standing in the Gap, gently explained that I should not give up being a KJBer just because of this man and his teachings. He has studied the history of the King James Bible, in depth, for sometime and had made a very valid comment on my post. I wanted to share it with you. I've known Brother Jim for 26 years. A wonderful godly man, a humble man, yet not ashamed or afraid to speak the truth. He said I could post his comment if I wanted to and so I am.

Brother Jim, thank you for your email. You were absolutely correct in what you said.

Psalm 119:165, "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them."
I wanted to comment on your post about clearing up things regarding your use of the term King James Bible. I don't think you should be so quick in giving up this term just because of your being afraid to be labeled a term after Ruckman... I personally like to use the term King James Bible and I don't think you should drop that term because of one man!!! And I for sure don't follow Ruckman and his teachings!!!

Do you know Fred Phelps, the sicko wacko pastor that protests military funerals and hates fags and such and from time to time gets plenty of air time on the news??? I think he and his church also protested Jerry Falwell's funeral with fag signs and such.... anyway, he pastors a so-called BAPTIST church out in Kansas.... even thought he is totally wrong in his belief system, I don't plan to drop the name Baptist because of him.... I am a Baptist because I believe that is the church which is following the example of a church as laid in the New Testament.

I know plenty of counterfeit, phony Christians...... but I don't plan on dropping the name of Christian because of them.

I know plenty of ungrateful, unpatriotic, sissy Americans...... but I don't plan on dropping the name of American.

In the same sense, I won't drop using the term King James Bible because of what others might say.... the King James Bible is the Bible. It didn't become a Version until all the other counterfeit Bibles began to show up during the 1900's... think of the other earlier English bibles prior to the King James.... Geneva, Tyndale, Wycliffe, etc. When people speak of them historically, do you hear the term Geneva Version or Tyndale Version, or do you hear the Geneva Bible or the Tyndale Bible??? In most of my studies, I hear the latter.... the same is said about the King James Bible.

I'm not fussin at you, but I did want to comment about this. I have no idea what happened that would cause you to post this change in thinking, other than maybe someone called you a Ruckmanite. I wouldn't let that bother you..... the term King James Bible is not totally exclusive to him. I know you aren't a Ruckmanite...... but I do know you believe the King James Bible is the perfect, inerrant, infallible Word of God. Why drop the term and replace it with the liberal bible believers who like their many versions!!!

I didn't want to comment on the post itself to seem to be argumentative, and I don't mean this to be argumentative either. I was just trying to encourage you not to give up with that term..... I would much rather use King James Bible than King James Version, but I guess it just really is a preference....

You can slim this down and post it if it makes you change your mind on the situation.... but of course, that is not necessary. I am just trying to get you to think and pray about this situation and possibly reconsider retracting that post instead of retracting the use of the term King James Bible.
Standing in the Gap,
Bro. Jim
ETA:
In case you get any negative comments about my use of the term fags in my post..... I should have put that in quotes.... that is usually the term used by Fred Phelps and his followers on their protest signs at military funerals. Since I was talking about him I used that term, but it should have been in quotes!!!

I typically do not use that term at all.... in speech or in writing. I should have made myself clearer.
Standing in the Gap,
Bro. Jim

Eternal Security Part V

I discussed in earlier posts why I believe in eternal security. There was one more post I needed for that series and I'm ashamed to say that I am JUST NOW getting that done. Shame on me. I kept putting it off until I'd forgotten about it and as I was getting ready to add some new sites to my sidebar, I realized I had put this last part off long enough. If you would like to read the other posts, please click the links below:

Part I
Part II
Part III
Part IV

In Part IV, I talked about our spiritual location and our possessions. To wrap up this series, I wanted to talk about what is past, and what we are promised.

What is past is the law of sin and death. In Romans 8:2 it says, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." When I accepted Christ into my heart, His Holy Spirit set Himself inside of me and freed me from sin. Do I still sin? Every single day. But I am no longer under that bondage. His Spirit not only set me free from the bondage of sin, but it also set free from death. Will I die? If the Lord does not come back before I die, then, yes! I will die. But my soul will live for eternity. I have been spared from eternal death in Hell.

What is past is death and wrath. Colossians 3:3 says, "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." Romans 6:11 "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." I Thessalonians 5:9 "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" I don't have to worry about dying and facing the wrath of God. I'm a child of God. I will live forever free from death and His wrath.

What is past is condemnation. John 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my words and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall no come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." I have heard His words....I believe on God....therefore, I have everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation. When I die, I will pass on into life. There are no stipulations there! Praise the Lord!

What is past is Night and darkness. I Thessalonians 5:5 "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness." Everything dark seems to be of evil. It's a comfort to be called a child of light. Jesus Christ Himself is the light of the world. And for those of us who are saved, we have become His child. Shining His light everywhere we go.

Here is what we are promised. I really, really like this one. This is the icing on the cake. God has yet to ever break a promise and so I wait with anticipation the things He has promised His children.

We are promised the glory of God. Romans 5:2 "By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God."

We are promised redemption of the body. Romans 8: 23-24 "And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?" Philippians 3:21 "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."

We are promised NEVER to perish. John 10: 27-28 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall NEVER perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

We are promised to be conformed to the image of Christ. Romans 8:28-29 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethern."

We are promised to appear with Christ in glory. Colossians 3:3-4 "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."

We are promised to be not appointed to wrath, but to salvation. I Thessalonians 5:9 "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ."

We are promised to be delivered from the wrath to come. I Thessalonians 1:10 "And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come."

We are promised incorruptible inheritance. I Peter 1:4 "To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you"

We are promised that He that hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

We are promised that we will never die. John 11:26 "And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"

We are promised the glorious liberty of the children of God. Romans 8:21 "Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God."

We are promised that God shall confirm us unto the end. I Corinthians 1:8 "Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ."

We are promised eternal inheritance. Hebrews 9:15 "And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance."

We are promised to be saved from wrath. Romans 5:9 "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."

We are promised that we cannot be separated from God's love. Romans 8: 31-39 "What shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

I do hope that if you do not believe in eternal security, that you will prayerfully take all of these scripture into prayerful consideration and one day know the peace that comes from knowing that once you have accepted Christ as your Saviour, you are forever His child. You cannot experience real joy and peace in your Christian walk when you do not believe that you are continually in His righteous hand no matter what.

Purified Seven Times Part I

A few weeks ago, Pastor Goodman mentioned that he wanted to do a series on the King James Bible and how it has been translated seven times to perfection, and needs not to be translated ever again. Other translations are wrong and have not been ordained by God.

I've been looking forward to this series so much and have decided to do a post on it. So be watching the Wednesday evening or Thursday posts. When you believe something, you should know why you believe it. And this is something that is important to me. I've always read and used the KJB because I was brought up on it. My Daddy always said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" So I'm looking forward to this series and I hope you will enjoy the posts on them. I pray the Lord will guide my fingers as I do them and the Light of the WORD will be magnified.

Pastor began his series with a little history. So here we go....

Psalm 12:6 says, "The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." If you want to know what God thinks about His WORD, just look at the first part of that verse. He says they are PURE words.

The King James Bible is the seventh translation and the number seven, when seen in the Bible, is the number of completion and perfection. Again, see the verse above! Neat, huh?? There were 47 men that translated this version and these men voted 47 to nothing that it was perfected.

The Roman Catholic Church suppressed the translation of the Bible except in Latin, keeping people in the dark concerning the scripture. Hence The Dark Ages.

At that time, the scripture was read by only the clergy of the Catholic Church and there were only fragments of it circulating. John Whitcliffe, a former Catholic priest, began to translate the scriptures into English, by hand. Sometimes on wooden paper. Can you imagine? There were no printing presses so in order to get the WORD out, he had to hand write it. Anyway, Whitcliffe was inspired by a man name Peter Waldo. He was a leader of a group of Christians known as the first AnaBaptists. They preached against baptizing babies into salvation, among other things, which made them outlaws in the eyes of the Catholic church. They would hide in caves and anywhere else they would be safe. Around 500 Bibles were in translation and circulating when they were seized and translated back into Latin by the Catholic church.

Baptist are not protestant. They were never part of the Catholic church which means they never had to protest anything. They just preached the truth and ran for their lives because of it. We just wanted a Bible!

When these AnaBaptists were hiding in the woods, Pope Innocent VIII smoked the woods to draw out the Christians and slaughter them. This day, called The Saint Bartholomew Day, was established to be a holiday and celebrated among the Catholic church. It is still celebrated in the Catholic Church today. This Pope wasn't so innocent, was he?

300 Christians were slaughtered so that their blood soaked the ground and the people who watched and participated in these slaughters were walking on soft ground of bloody mud.

Besides being burned at the stake, did you know that Christians found reading the scriptures were arrested by the Catholic church, tied by their hands and feet, and were slowly sawed in half? Some of them, and their children, were wrapped in animal skin soaked in water and thrown into the woods to be mauled and eaten alive by wild animals. If they were left alone, the heat from the sun would dry the skin and it would contract to suffocate them. All because they wanted to read the TRUTH. And most Christians today won't even carry a tract on them to share with someone else.

I'm thankful for the men, women, and children that died for my Blessed Old Book!

The first translation was finalized in 1384. There are six more to come!

The Gospel Of Judas

This post is inspired by my Pastor, J Barry Goodman, and most of what I write tonight is from his sermon. So!

First of all, if it doesn't portray the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it is NOT the gospel.

This is going to quickly become a controversial issue among Bible believing Christians and Evangelicals not to mention non-Christian liberals who are biting at the bits to accept this so called gospel and see that Judas wasn't as bad as we thought, but Jesus was.

Our family is KJV only readers and believers. We consider the KJV to be the final authority above all others. But something I did not know until tonight is that the KJV has been written and rewritten seven times since the first time they began translating it and that seventh time was the last time because it was correct. The number seven in the Bible is the number of completion. The Bible says in Psalms 12:6, "The words of the LORD are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." Don't go messing with the Word of God. "Experts" are adding and subtracting from the Word of God and people are sucked into a belief that it's still the Bible only in a language that we use today to understand it better. That's a lie. I mean think about it, our grandfathers and greatgrandfathers and great-great grandfathers had much less of an education that we have today and yet they understood the KJV just fine and that was all they had. I'm not going to pretend that I am an expert on the subject, because I am not. But I do know that the Bible warns us about adding to or taking away from the Word and that's all I need to know. But this isn't what this post is about. It's about this "new" gospel that has come to light. And the same "experts" that promote the rewritten perversions of the KJV are some of the same "experts" promoting this new so called gospel of Judas.

This so called gospel says that Jesus set up his own crucifixion and betrayed Judas by telling Judas secrets He didn't tell anyone else, making Judas look like a bad guy. But the truth is what the Bible says about Judas when Jesus, speaking to the twelve said, "...Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?" He was speaking of Judas because He knew that Judas would betray Him.

I just wanted to say that this new "gospel" they claim they have found is straight from Hell. The time of Christ's coming is closer than ever. Are you ready?

Galatians 1:6-9 "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel; Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

Can you HEAR the warnings in these verses to stay away from those that are preaching and teaching things other than what is in the Bible? Read them again. The Gospel Of Judas is a lie.
