My Weekend

Sunday morning, Bruce taught the second part of his "Do's And Don'ts Of A Happy Marriage" in Sunday School. I said before he's never taught, so this was a great experience for him. He did good last week, but it was even better this week and he ended it very well. I was very proud of him. But we're looking forward to Brother Ken being back from vacation and picking up where he left off on the gates of Jerusalem. You'd be surprised how the gates of Jerusalem can be applied to the marriage and relationships in general.

Between services, we had dinner at Mom and Dad's. She fixed the BEST lasanga. It was so good! Thanks Mom! After we ate, Bruce and I took Justin to pick up some last minute things for camp while Hannah and Harrison stayed with their grandparents and napped. After we picked up the things he needed, we drove on to the church because I needed to be there for the Daughters of Faith to help them practice some new songs.

Sunday night we had a special service to honor the graduates in our church. Harrison was one of those graduates. I have some pictures but haven't downloaded them yet, so when I get those downloaded I'll share them with you.

When we came home, I finished doing some laundry so Justin would have clean jeans for camp. We got in bed really late and got up really early to finish packing his bag. Finally, after eating, brushing his teeth, finding his hat and changing his pants, he was ready to go!!!!

"Got your Bible?"
"Yes, Maam."
"Got your sleeping bag and pillow?"
"Yes, Maam."
"Got your wallet?"
"Yes, Maam."
"Toothbrush, deodorant, and soap?"
Sighing with a smile, "Yes, Maam."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

On the way to the church I asked him if he wanted to stop and get a soda for the road trip. He did. So we stopped at the Exxon near the church and Justin ran inside. He was in there a minute and came out with a bewildered look on his face and no drink. Why? Because when he changed his pants before leaving the house, he left his wallet in them. Oh dear! The bus pulls out in ten minutes and it will take thirty to run back to the house for the wallet and get back. Bruce asked him how much money he had in it. Fortunately, Bruce had that amount in his wallet. So, it ended up working out because Bruce was able to give Justin HIS wallet and the money he had. Bruce said he needed a new wallet anyway. Aren't Dads great? Let's just hope he brings his clothes back this year....Long story.

After dropping Justin off, I brought Bruce back home and Pam picked up Hannah, Harrison, and me to go to Carowinds. It was Friend Day for those who had a Season's Pass so we were the friends they chose to take. We had a really good time. We looked so nice and neat when we left and by the time we got home we looked like drowned rats. How lovely we were! We didn't get home until sometime after ten. Thanks, Pam!

So that was my weekend. How was yours?
