December 19, Churchwide Christmas Fellowship

Wednesday night was our Churchwide Christmas Fellowship. Everyone meets in the gym for BBQ, grilled chicken, and sides. We always have a great time. A lot of people come dressed in festive wear.
Here is daddy sporting his very sequined tie.

Even the little babies get in on the festivity attire.

Pastor showing the church daddy's tie.

Lest ye think we cancel church to party, after we eat, Pastor reads scripture and gives us a time of Bible lesson and prayer. That's a good Baptist Pastor, yes?

One of the most faithful ladies in our church is Mrs. Carolyn Parker. She has got one of the sweetest spirits of anyone I know and is our youth choir director. The children in our church put their monies together and bought her an ipod for Christmas. She was absolutely blown away. Look at that face. She was so surprised! It was great.

When special gifts were handed out, Pastor gave the mic to Brother RJ who called out the names of people with gifts under the tree. One of those was Mrs. Kellie. Her husband, Randy, bought her a BEAUTIFUL freshwater cultured pearl, citrine, peridot, and amethyst necklace and bracelet set. It was just lovely!

I didn't have to tell them to pose for this one. :)

Mrs. Diane is a great cook. However, her husband and son, Gary, and my daddy always tease her about burning everything she cooks...even water. So for Christmas, daddy bought her a fire extinguisher. Isn't that mean? She took it all in good spirit though.

And then, of course, there's Missy. Our fashion queen at Faith Baptist Church. Check out those angel glasses.
I've been trying all Christmas season to get a good video of our orchestra, failing miserably. But here is a video of them playing at the fellowship to give you an idea.
