December 18, Secret Pal Dinner

Tuesday night we had our Secret Pal dinner. As you know, I did not participate this year, however, I did have someone bringing me gifts throughout the year. Which was a lot of fun for me!! I figured it out, though, when in October she gave me a lovely bag filled with different baking silicones and magazines with recipes in them. How did I figure it out? Her name was on one of the magazines. Who was she? My mommy! Thanks, mom! I felt special all year.

I was in charge of games this year but before we played games, we ate a fantastic meal. Mrs. Janet worked hard to fix a wonderful meal for the ladies. We had motzerella cheese sticks, shrimp, salad, grilled chicken, baked potatoes, and all the fixins! There were desserts and drinks, and oh, how yummy! Thank you, Mrs. Janet, as usual you out did yourself.

From left to right is Wendy(pregnant with fifth), Marla, Rebecca, Brenda, Amanda, April(pregnant with third), Liz, Mom, Meghan(pregnant with sixth), Pam, Amy, Cameron(little boy), Kendra(hiding behind her mom), and Mrs. Janet. This picture was taken just before the song game, which I'll post a video of at the bottom of this post.

To play the game you gather everyone together and tell them to think of their favorite Christmas carol. On the count of three, they are to start singing that carol outloud. If you mess up, you stop singing. The last person singing wins. Mom won, so she was allowed to choose something from the prize table.

This was another game where I gave each lady a piece of paper and they had to tear out a Christmas tree......behind their back. I was really amazed at the nice trees a few of the ladies tore out. Therefore, we had a more than one winner.

Mrs. Brenda won first place.

Mrs. Marla second

Mrs. Amy, third

The next game was won by Mrs. Pam. Look at that smile, would ya! That's because her prize was a $25 gift card to Wal Mart. The gift card was wrapped in a box which was wrapped several times in another box, which was wrapped several times in another box. And then wrapped some more! The box was passed around in a circle while Christmas music played. When the music stopped, the person holding the gift would tear a layer of wrapping off. The person holding the gift when the last layer was off, won the prize.

Next it was time to reveal yourself to the person you had secretly schemed for all year. Mrs. Liz was like a giddy school girl that night on pins and needles because she and Mrs. Brenda had mom thinking most of the year that Brenda was her secret pal. Imagine the surprise when mom realized that it was not Brenda, but Liz! That was really hilarious.
