Thimble Thoughts

I was doing my best on getting this post finished last night, but I kept falling asleep while working on it, so I just gave up. But now I'm rested (almost) from the weekend and well, here ya go!

OH! Meghan and Daniel's Hershey had her pups. These pups are full chocolate labs. Aren't they adorable? If you're in the Charlotte/Gastonia/Cleveland County area and you're looking for a sweet little pup for some little one's Christmas present, wouldn't one of these be sweet with a pretty red bow around its neck? :)

We were invited to have dinner with the Corriveau family last week and had to cancel because of Uncle Joe's funeral so we decided to do it yesterday. We had such a wonderful afternoon. Mrs. Rebecca cooked a delicious meal of lasagna, rigatoni, fresh garden salad, garlic bread, and this oh-so-good smiling, layered cake. Two chocolate cakes with whipped chocolate frosting in the middle, whipped vanilla on top, and a Hershey almond candy bar for the smile. After dinner, we all burped real good and spent some time relaxing, fellowshipping, making ourselves at home, looking at pictures, listening to music, sipping hot tea, etc..... It was SO relaxing, Bruce was dozing off in the rocking chair. We had a wonderfully good time and appreciate their hospitality. Thank you, Corriveau family!

Saturday morning, the kids and I had gone to mom and dad's early and was helping them get some things done that mom can't do by herself and daddy certainly can't do it. But she also hired "the lady" to come do some things and that lady put Justin to work. Mom has told me her name several times and I just can't remember it. I do, however, remember the name of her business and that is Make Her Day. Anyway, she was going to clean the ceiling fans and so Justin is taking down the light fixtures for her.

"The lady" was rearranging the furniture and this is the before picture. By the way, there won't be after pictures until after Wednesday. :)

"The lady" was going to get the tree out of the building, but we, well, Justin, well, mostly Hannah, did that before she got there. Justin was going to back out daddy's lawn mower so he could get the tree out, but we couldn't find the right key and didn't want to wake daddy. Remember he was sick all that night before. So Hannah, being a determined young lady since birth, pulled and tugged and tugged and pulled and had it half way out the building when Justin realized she was getting it. So! before we knew it, the tree was on the deck ready to be blown off and set up in the house. This is also the before picture with an after picture coming after Thanksgiving.

Now for the wedding pictures.....I took gobs of pictures and only a few turned out "good" enough to share. But like I said, it was one of the prettiest ceremonies I've been to.

The platform was very elegant and very simple. By the prayer bench was a communion table. Adam and Jessica wanted the wedding to be about God and not just each other so one thing they did was take communion together. I've never seen that done at a wedding and it was very sweet. Someone asked me if they were Catholic. No, they are NOT Catholic. They just wanted to take communion and time to remember Christ in their union. Her daddy, who is also the Pastor, stood over them at the prayer bench with one hand on each of them and prayed over them. It was so sweet.

Adam is on the left, of course, and his daddy, Unlce Rober, was his best man.

Here comes the Bride!

Prayer.....

The kiss.....

Before introducing the newlyweds, the entire church was asked to stand and everyone pray for Adam and Jessica. I've never seen that done at a wedding either and to hear all of those voices whispering prayers for them touched my heart.

At the reception, there was a table as you walked in where a picture of them sat with dozens of little treat bags of leaf shaped sugar cookies. The reception was great but my batteries went dead. Yes, I was so upset, but I've been promised some from my sister-in-law, LIBERTY, and HAVE NOT received them yet. lol Love you, Liberty. :)

That was our weekend. How was yours?
