Blogger Reflection Award

Before I begin this post, I must give credit for the picture of the award below. I used the code for it, but could not get it to work. A highschool homeschooler made three of these awards to use at anyone's choosing and I wanted to give her credit. I've read a little in her blog and I think she's a thinker! She's wanting to put together a hope chest so I'll be looking back to see what she does there. I love girly stuff, don't you?
Click the award to see her blog, Amusing Reflections of A Country Girl.
Pam, from Midnight Musings awarded me the Blogger Reflection Award and it made me feel honored to think that someone is blessed by Thimble Thoughts. Pam reads so many wonderful blogs that I was deeply touched she chose me among her five blogs that cause her to reflect. Here is what she had to say about me and Thimble Thoughts....
Kristi at Thimble Thoughts is so much fun! She is very busy in
her church which has some really neat ministries and outreach programs. She also homeschools and has a blast with her kids. Her love for her hubby Bruce shines
through her posts. She can cover amazing truths from God and His Word with
humor.

Thank you, Pam. That was so sweet. I do hope that readers visiting Thimble Thoughts feel those same things you mentioned. I do love my church and try to stay active while balancing my home and our homeschooling efforts. Bruce is the love of my life and I would never want to put him down in public. That includes the blogsphere, which is extremely public!! As far as covering amazing truths from God and His Word with humor, you MUST have humor to be a Christian. LOL
Pam has already received this award, but if I had received the award before her, she would have been in my top five. She has become a wonderful friend to me and I can't wait to read her blog everyday. She always has a story to share about her family and the love she feels for them is evident in every post about them. She's eager to see her boys grow up to become respectable Christian men and judging by her posts, I can see she's doing a good job of that. She has certainly been an encouragement to me and I've come to love her as a true friend. If you've never read Midnight Musings you really should. I know she would be an encouragement to you also. Not to mention a good friend.
On that note, we'll get on with the award ceremony. Please hold your applause until all the recipients have been named.
"The reason for the title is because this award should make you reflect on five bloggers who have been an encouragement, a source of love, impacted you in some way, and have been a Godly example to you."
Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I am honored to present the Blogger Reflection Award to:
1. Tori, from A Home Away From Home. Tori is the wife to John and they are serving the Lord together as IFB Missionaries in Croatia. Right now they are home on furlough and I believe they will be returning to Croatia soon. Tori is straightforward and honest in her writing. She's funny, loving, and determined to be the lady the Lord would have her to be. I love it when she talks about Croatia and shows us her pictures, which by the way, are absolutely beautiful and fills you with desire to one day go there. They are pretty much serving the Lord as IFB missionaries by themselves there. I often reflect on some of her posts and wonder if I could do what she does with the same bounce in her step that she has and the joy in her heart that she so obviously carries toward her life and the people of Croatia, being so far from home. This award is very simple compared to the crown I know Tori will receive in Heaven.
2. Courtney, from Courtney's Contemplations. Courtney was my flower girl when Bruce and I were married and the inspiration for me starting Thimble Thoughts. I've known her since before she was born. And although it's been too long since I've seen her, she's turned out to be exactly what I thought she would be. A wonderful Christian young woman with the strength of an entire army when it comes to her beliefs and the ground she stands on in the name of the Lord. She exhibits self control when it comes to answering terrible commenters. This is a quality about her that I admire because I lack it in myself. She always has a scripture to back up her thoughts. And she allows the scripture to speak for her.
3. Julie from Julie's Jewels. Sis Julie is a minister to the ladies! I've often thought she should turn all of her posts into a devotional book. I am always inspired by this Pastor's wife, and certainly challenged as a Christian when I read her posts. Her testimony is one that shows the glorious hand of God pulling a sinner from the very tip of Hell's door. She is a blessing to me and so many others.
4. Heather, from Just Laugh. As I mentioned earlier, you must have a sense of humor to be a Christian. Heather gets that! She can take, what to most Christians would be a humiliating experience or valley, and turn it into a hilarious situation. Only the Lord can help us do that. She is the proud wife of a Marine and mother to some obviously great kids. Her heart is open to sharing her deepest emotions. She's the "been there, done that" blogger that I can relate to. And I love her for that.
5. Mishel, from Seasons of Life. Mishel is the proud wife of her fireman and mother to Zach and Ashleigh. She reminds me a lot of myself. You can tell she's the social butterful and loves her church family. She inspires me to be a more attentive homeschool mother because of how her kids are turning out. She has a wonderful relationship with her children and husband, which is evident in every post she writes. She is a blessing in so many ways, I don't even know where to begin. But I do know that blog world would be terribly sad if she weren't in it.
Thank you all for being a blessing in my life and causing me to reflect.
I'd like to give an Honorable Mention to two very new bloggers:
1. Daddy, from Paw Paw's Paradise. Daddy inspires me on different levels. Through his battle with his illness, he continues to keep a merry heart and although at times I am sure he'd rather just give up, he always finds the strength to push forward. A strength in him that I most admire and hope to emmulate. I've been told that I am outspoken but can say things and get away with it because of the way I say it. So I guess you could say I get that from him. However, he'll say it if he knows he can get away with it or not. LOL :) As you get to know daddy, you'll see he has quite the sense of humor. Another trait I have inherited from him, although he does have a bit more "craziness" to him. See his first post.
2. Mom, from Maw Maw's House. Mom has attitude. A sweet one that is. She puts up with a lot from people who do not display a Christian character. I get upset when she is faulted for being a Christian, but she always says, "Now Kristi, Blessed be the peace maker." If you know my mother, she is one that will stand for the Word of God among her unsaved peers and never waver.
I hope you will enjoy reading the blogs that made the Blogger Reflection Award and that you will take the time to get to know the blogs of my Honorable Mentions.
