December 6

Bruce and I did some Christmas shopping in a neighboring town and while we were there, we stopped at Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant for lunch. We love their buffet. It is so good!

Tonight was Justin's Usher's Dinner, given by Brother Jr. and his wife, Mrs. Deborah. They just really outdo themselves for this dinner. That's Brother Jr there on the right, standing up.

I believe there were about 75 people there tonight, which included our ushers and their spouses, the junior ushers and their parents, the staff and their spouses, and the deacons and their wives.

This is Angie. She's the mother of one of our junior ushers and one of Justin's good friends.
Brother Jr had something to say....

And so did our Pastor. ;)

Mrs. Deborah had a couple of games to play. They were fun.

For the first game, she had the junior ushers place a paper on top of their heads, supported by a gift box. They were to draw a floor, tree, star, fireplace with mantel, and stocking. To earn points, the tree had to touch the floor, the star had to touch the tree, the mantel had to touch the fireplace, and the stocking had to touch the mantel. All of this without seeing...obviously!

Clint was in deep concentration and to be perfectly honest, he actually did a wonderful job making sense of his drawings. LOL

Jeremy and Justin

Justin ended up winning that game. Way to go, hon!

For the next game, the senior ushers and their wives played a game called, "Are You Smarter Than An Usher?" It was the ushers against their wives in answering trivia questions pertaining to Christmas.

The third game was for the staff. Mrs. Deborah had the husbands sit directly in front of their wives and they had to answer simple yes or no questions about their wives. Such as "Are your wife's finger nails painted tonight," "Is your wife wearing heels or flats," etc. It was really funny. Poor Brother Johnny was in the dog house tonight!

Remember the Christmas shower we had for Jennifer? Well, this is her Jonathan. He's home from Crown College for a month for Christmas.

We had a lot of fun.....

...and a lot of laughter!

Brother Cline here is modeling the new usher tags that Brother Jr bought for all the senior ushers for Christmas. Wasn't that nice?
Although Bruce was at work and we missed him greatly, we had a really wonderful time.
Thank you, Brother Jr and Mrs. Deborah for a great time of fellowship!
