December 2nd and 3rd
At church yesterday, we had Brother Joe Bryant. It is always good to have Brother Bryant with us. He's an amazing preacher with one of those deep, powerful voices. I missed hearing him in the evening service because I had nursery duty. But I was so happy I got to see him Sunday morning.
After the morning service we went to the local YMCA where Bruce's company was having their Family Christmas party.
There was so much food it was unbelievable. They served us turkey, ham, roast beef, summer sausage, and several different breads to go with it. There was a mashed potato and sweet potato bar with all of your favorite toppings. A table of different salads (egg, chicken, tuna, potato) crackers, spinach dip, meatballs, and platters with mountains of cheese. Another table was filled with puddings and cookies. At another table there was a chocolate fountain with pretzels, strawberries, cherries, marshmallows, apple slices, small cookies, bananas, pound cake slices, and several other things to dip in the chocolate. Not to mention the tea fountain and punch.
Needless to say we needed to hit the workout rooms on the way out of the Y. But, nah.....why ruin a good thing?
They had face painting for the children and it was really the best face painting I've ever seen at any party. The poinsettias were my favorite. Blake got a Christmas tree on his face. You can enlarge it to see it better. Blake is a little boy in our church. His daddy and Bruce both work for Baldor.
MaryGrace, Blakes baby sister, was all partied out. But she still had a star painted on her face before she passed out in lala land.
When we left the Baldor party, I dropped Bruce and Harrison back off at the house to rest a little bit before the evening service while Justin, Hannah, and I went back to the church where they would be working the puppets for the two and three year old Christmas party. The children were totally captivated and shocked when the puppets would call out their names.
The little ones went to the sanctuary and practiced their songs for the Christmas program. They were so cute!
These lighted wreaths are along the sidewalk to the church. Hali D was enjoying them here.
Today was a normal Monday, except that after Bruce went to work, I went to my friend's home and we watched It's A Wonderful Life.
Brenda and her husband Clifford are a special couple in our church that I just love. We don't get to spend a lot of time together so today was very special to me. I just feel at home when I'm around Brenda and was able to kick off my shoes, curl up in the recliner and just enjoy some girly time with her. Don't you love having friends you feel comfortable with?
Thanks, Brenda! I had fun with you.
