December 4

Tonight was our Nursery Mother's Dinner. People ask me all the time what a nursery mother is. I had never heard of a nursery mother until I came to Faith. Anyway, we have many babies in our church and have two nurseries. A baby nursery and a toddler nursery. For one person to be over the nurseries all year it would call for a rented, padded room at the local insane asylum. So there are a group of ladies that take one month out of the year to be a nursery mother. Our job is to call the nursery workers to inform them they have nursery for this week's service, wash the used sheets, change the diaper pails, and make sure things run smoothly and that there are enough workers in place for the babies.

So at the end of the year, before Christmas, the church treats us to a Thank You supper at a nice restaurant.

We always have a great time of fellowship.

From left to right here is Mrs. Ava (our Pastor's wife), Mrs. Marla, and Mrs. Vondie (our associate Pastor's wife.)

Mrs. Janet was putting on makeup. I don't know why...it was 9:00. Where was she going after supper? Shopping? Bowling? Maybe she just wanted to look good for Brother Greg (her husband) No, that wouldn't it. I don't know, but she looked great...........in the dark.

l to r is Michelle, Tammy, and Mrs. Vickie. Michelle is the newest nursery mother.

Mrs. Tammy is our Sunday school teacher's wife. She's a nut. I had another picture of her, but we both decided I shouldn't post it. Plus she threatened my life. So, you get this picture.

I had salad with smothered chicken, loaded potato and cheesy garlic bread with chocolate covered cheesecake for dessert. I filled up on the salad and bread and only ate a couple bites of my chicken and potato. So Bruce ended up with my leftovers, which was pretty much a full portion. He was happy and ever so glad I was a nursery mother when he saw that I brought home half of my cheesecake too.
