Graduation Pics

I've been scolded for not posting graduation pics. Sorry, O Brother!!

This past weekend, we attended two graduation services for three nieces and a young man in our youth group.

The first graduation was Friday night at Burns High School. Home of the BULLDOGS.

The line of graduates seemed unending.

Truth be told, we didn't know that the young man in our youth group would be graduating from Burns. For some reason we all thought he went to another local high school. So it was nice to be able to watch him graduate as an added bonus.

And then our little Amber's name was called. Do you remember having your name called at graduation and feeling that you had finally done it. It was over. Twelve years for one moment in time to hear your name called and a paper placed in your hand.
You worked hard for it, Amber. Congratulations! We love you very much.

Saturday morning we attended the graduation ceremony at Bessemer City High School. The number of graduates was small in comparison to the night before, but was equally heart warming, knowing the excitement each graduate must have been feeling.

Brandy's name was called first....

...and then Brittney. Altough they graduated on the same day, Brandy can always say she graduated before her twin sister.

I had to get this shot. This is a guy I grew up with. He's a cop now....obviously. Hi, Jason!!!

Brittney has a bit of art in her. This year, she had three fellow classmates, two of which would have graduated, that were killed in a car accident. She painted this picture and it will be hung in the Mint Museum in Charlotte next week. It's an angel hovering over the road.
