Animal Fun

Since Bruce is on the fish and golfing trip, we decided to hook up with another family whose husband/dad is on the same trip. Mrs. Pam had gotten tickets to a free circus being held at the Shelby Fair Grounds, but it was actually free for the children only. Adults were fifteen dollars. So since neither of us came prepared for that, we decided to skip the circus, but enjoyed the animals that were outside in the petting cages.

This is Bubba. And I think I know why his name is Bubba. He had the awfulest set of "bubba teeth" you have ever seen. We got tickled watching him eat and "smile" at us. And no, he didn't spit on any of us. Justin made sure to remind us not to stand directly in front of him. Thanks, Justin!!

I was surprised at how eager Harrison was to feed the animals. Usually he would be scared to death to let an animal eat from his hand, but he didn't hesitate. Well, there was the first time when a pony stuck his head out to eat from his hand and he dropped all the feed on the ground. Poor pony nearly broke his neck getting to it.

This little guy was tied up outside the cages. Harrison took a liking to him immediately.

These ponies would tap their front hooves on the cages at Hannah for her to feed them. We thought that was funny.

Ever felt like this?

If you click on this picture you MIGHT be able to see Bubba's Bubba teeth. However, it might show up blury.

This fellow was funny. He would stand on his back legs while you fed him. He took a liking to Justin.

I wish you could see this one's face. He had such a sweet little face.

Harrison enjoyed a ride.

I tried to get Hannah to ride the camel, but she had a straight skirt on and it wouldn't have been very lady-like. So she opted to pass on the camel ride. I've ridden a camel before. Justin and I rode one at the Renaissance Festival when he was about a year old. It is definitely not a comfortable ride.

This cutie was out in a field and acted as though it had a hurt leg. But isn't he pretty?

After playing with the animals, we bought some ice cream and headed to Mrs. Pam's for a game or two. We had a very nice time.
