Thimble Thoughts: Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday

Meghan, Joseph, and Pam waving at me since I missed the Super Bowl Party. Look at Joseph...isn't he cute? He looks like that ALL of the TIME but usually with a smile. He's the fifth of what will soon be six. Very soon as a matter of fact.

We do not cancel church for the Super Bowl, nor do we bring in a big screen TV and refreshments to watch the Super Bowl with videos during half time of player's testimonies and call it "having church." Not to sound holier than thou, but the churches that do this probably get more shout out of their men during their Super Bowl Sunday gathering than any other time of the year. Pretty sad, huh?

Ohhhhhhh, I better get off this wagon! I'm sure a nasty comment will follow after that. From Anonymous, of course!

For Super Bowl Sunday it was like any other Sunday for us. Of course my husband did remind me several times during the week that Super Bowl Sunday was coming and that there would be no talking after church Sunday night in order to get home. The way I figure it, he lets me talk after church 51 weeks a year so I'll give him Super Bowl Sunday. HA!

We were invited to Pam and Joel's AFTER church for a Super Bowl party, but Bruce wanted to be where there weren't screaming babies and plus he'd feel bad if he got mad and threw a cup or something at Brother Joel's TV. He feels more comfortable doing that in the privacy of his own home. hehehe I'm kidding......sort of.

At one point during the game I thought we were actually AT the game. He and Justin were yelling (in victory) over a play the Giants made. I probably would have watched it with him had the Packers or the Panthers been in the Bowl, but I wasn't really interested in New England or the Giants. Quite frankly, neither was he. But he is a man and he does love sports. He pulled for the Giants because NE has made their mark in the Super Bowl world. So he was happy the Giants won.

I was feeling rather upset on my stomach that night and was kind of glad I wasn't at the Super Bowl Party. Hannah and Harrison and I went to the store for some drinks. Coke seems to be the only thing that settles my stomach. Then Harrison got sick that night, but I wasn't sure if it was his asthma and allergies that brought it on because he was coughing so much, or if we had just caught a bug. At any rate, we were both better by morning. However, little Cameron is sick. So say a prayer for him. I always hated my kids being sick when they were little. Well, I still do, but when they're small they just don't understand what's going on. All they know is they're miserable.

Long story short, Bruce was happy the Giants walked away with the Super Bowl rings and that Eli Manning is going to Disney World. After all, now that he's won the Super Bowl, that's what he's supposed to do......right?
