"Not On My Watch" Sunday Night's Sermon Notes
Pastor's sermon Sunday night was what Faith Baptist Church of Shelby will not see while he is the watchman.
TEXT: Ezekiel 33:6 "But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand."
I. We Will Not Question
A. The final authority of the King James Bible
B. The atonement of the blood of Jesus Christ
C. The assurance of the Blessed Hope in His glorious appearing
D. Evangelizing
E. Preaching Bible convictions, principals, and standards to the people. We will not lower the standards. Every man look like a man. Every woman look like a woman.
II. We Will Not Quench
A. The Holy Ghost. If the Spirit leads it, we're gonna do it! We will be a Holy Ghost led church.
B. Holy Ghost prompted emotions. Call us "holy rollers," we're gonna roll on for Jesus! "Weep with those who weep. Rejoice with those that rejoice." Emotions are expressed by manifested outer behavior.
C. Warm, loving, sweet fellowship. The Bible says to continue in fellowship. We're a puzzle to the public and a problem for the devil when we stay in sweet fellowship with one another.
III. We Ain't Gonna Quit
A. Being what we are...Old time, old fashioned, spittin', hanky wavin', shoutin' church! Faith Baptist church is what it is. We will make a loud noise and sing praise unto God.
B. Old fashioned music. The music of Faith Baptist Church will not override the message, but we're gonna sing and sing LOUD to the Lord.
C. Being long in our services. You can't do Holy Ghost business on First Baptist time. When God directs the service, it's right on time. Lunch will still be there.
D. The altar always being open. Morning, noon, and night, anytime of the day or night, anytime during any part of the service, the altar will always be open to those who need it.
IV. We Will Refuse To Change
A. Our Worship
B. Our Doctrine
C. Our music. We'll not try to build a bridge to the next generation!
D. Our belief that there is a Hell
