Football And Friends

Last night we got home around 1:00 AM from the Douglass home. We had such a good time. The menfolk watched the very sad Ohio state Florida game while us womenfolk sat around the breakfast bar in the kitchen and talked. The children were everywhere doing everything and we had a blast. There were, if I counted correctly, fifteen children and ten adults. Although, none of the adults were really monitoring what the children were doing. How could we? They were outside on the trampoline or playing games, playing with the dogs outside, or blowing up stuffed animals with firecrackers....yes, blowing them up. A couple of poor Barbie dolls were caught in that action too. Boys will be boys, won't they? They were watching videos, running in and out with cookies or pizza, playing in tents, jumping on beds, coloring, and yes, even filling the toilet with half a roll of toilet paper and a hairbrush. Who opened that bathroom door for Isaac anyway??

Here you see Meghan with the newest member of their family, Joseph. It was so sweet watching him play with her hair as he tried to doze off.

Here he is wide awake. Isn't he just the cutest little man? And you know, Meghan, he does look like Malachi.

While the younger menfolk were shooting off firecrackers the little girls weren't allowed outside, per demand of their mothers, and so they sat at the front door watching and wishing they were outside too. Eventually their wish was granted. :)

Justin M, Justin D, Harrison, and JaREN were the pyrotechnicians last night.

This is the unfortunate bear that was blown to pieces. His life was snuffed out at such a tender age. Shall we have a moment of silence?

Oh what fun firecrackers can be! Thanks, Paw Paw Birt!!

This is Brother Daniel. Husband to Meghan, father of Haili, Malachi, Alanna, Isaac, and Joseph.

Brother Jim is making Brother Chris wear the Ohio State sweatshirt. Brother Jim is husband to Angie, father of Christopher, Dillon, Chelsea, Cassidy, and Anna Grace. Brother Chris is husband to Amanda, father of Celine and Carissa.

From left to right, you see Brother Chirs, my Bruce, and Brother Jim eating and being annoyed of their picture being taken. :)

Brother Jon, our host, in his blue fuzzy chair. Did you get that for Christmas, Jon? :)

Besides blowing up teddy bears, the boys also played war games.

I was checking on my kids when I caught these little pirates in the video cabinet. Needless to say, their mothers were shown the picture, the videos were put back, and the lock went on the cabinet. Hehehehe

I told Meghan I wasn't going to post this, but Meghan, please forgive me, after downloading the pictures, I couldn't help but giggle at Carissa. Check out that hand and face ready to eat some of that brownie pizza. LOL

There was so much food. Brother Jon and Susan, our wonderful host and hostess, bought LOTS of pizza from Pizza Hut. They went out later and bought wings from the Clock Drive in. No lie, those were the best lemon pepper chicken wings I have ever eaten. As a matter of fact, I don't know that I've ever eaten restaurant wings before. But these sure were good! There was brownie pizza, yum yums.....or blondies.....or ooey gooey cake.....we never could figure out the exact name for them, but honestly, it didn't matter..... ice cream, cheese puffs, chips and dips, and sodas, and..........................Eww, I'm feeling sick again.

Here's Carissa with her daddy.

Amanda and Susan were in deep prayer here. No wait...they're just talking and I caught them with their eyes closed. Sorry y'all. :)

This was the only time we saw the children in one place so I snagged a quick photo.

Carissa had fun in this little baby tent. Is that not a cute little baby thingy?
That was our night. We had a ball. Thank you, Jon and Susan Douglass for a wonderful time.
Susan, how'd I do on spelling y'all's names?
