This And That

Christina from HsKubes Homeschool Haven posted Titus 2 Challenge: Are Your Children A Blessing?... She posted on something that's been close to my heart for a very long time. Something I've thought for years with a little more of her thoughts added to it. You must pop over and read it.

We had a good day at bus ministry today, but it was sad too. Two little children were waiting to be picked up by our church bus. They have been coming for a while, but today would probably be the last time we see them, unless God intervenes. To make a long story short, there were problems in the home and they will be moving today to a homeless shelter with their Mother in another county. It's really sad to think of the hardships these little ones must face on a day to day basis. Our own children can't even imagine something so terrible and I'm thankful for that. The good news is that they have been given the gospel and they know that there is a God they can call on in "times like these."

The kids just got back from Rest Home Ministry a few moments ago. They always come in excited and have someting sweet or funny to tell. I like it that they have such an energy after serving the Lord in some capacity. Justin has always played his trumpet in the past, but recently he has been playing the guitar with his Dad here at home and has been taking it with him to the rest home. He's also been taking his harmonicas. He loves music.

Hannah plays her flute or piccolo and has played the piano for the rest home. She is very talented on her flute. The piano too, but she's been playing the flute longer and has a real gift for it. But she broke my heart a couple of weeks ago when she said she didn't want to take piano any longer. Her piano teacher and her Grandparents, and Bruce and I, all told her to pray about that decision. She did, and guess what....she told us last night that she would continue on. So! I was a Happymama when I heard that. :)

Tipsy (our dog) had surgery Thursday. We had her spayed and it made me sad because she's a really sweet dog and I think she would be a good mommy. Anyway, she's been having to wear a funnel to keep her from pulling her wound and, bless her heart, she runs into everything. She's hit every door and wall in the house a dozen or more times. It's really pitiful. And when she gets an itch behind her ear, all she ends up getting when she scratches is the funnel. So we hear scrape scrape scrape scrape scrape. She seems to be handling it pretty well but her eyes look sad. I can't wait until I can take the funnel off of her this Thursday. I know she'll be so happy.
