Pies, Fries and nilla' Shakes
When Bruce came home from work today we got ready and went furniture shopping. We knew we were going to get new furniture so when we started laying the floor down we gave our old furniture away. We still have a recliner and my rocking chair, but the kids are having to sit on a hard floor unless they grab a dining chair. So tonight we drove to Hickory and if you know anything about Hickory, NC you know it's the capital furniture city of the state I think. Unfortunately, by the time we got there all the stores were closed. So we pretty much took a nice long drive this evening. The highlight of the evening was spending time talking in the car. That was a lot of fun. We drove thru McDonald's for a milkshake and Bruce ended up getting us fries and apple pies too. We snacked and talked and had fun. Some people would say that it was a wasted trip, but we were spending time together and that is time never wasted. I love spending time with my Sweetie Pie. Before we knew it, the gas light was on but my dear husband didn't want to get gas in Gastonia because it was $2.49 a gallon. So we got $3 worth of gas in Gastonia and trecked on down to Grover where it was $2.25. LOL, it's the day and time we're living in, I guess. Anyway, we had a nice evening together just driving around.
