Prayer For Brother Joel

Poor Brother Joel. Mrs. Pam had left the house for Wal Mart yesterday when just ten minutes later she received a phone call from her children saying that their daddy had fallen off the roof of their house. Apparently, he was trying to replace a shingle but doesn't remember what happened. He ended up with a broken nose, broken bones around his left eye, fractured elbow, hurt wrist, and as of tonight, it looks as though he may have a fractured hip. We'll know more about that after they're able to do X-rays.

When Mrs. Pam arrived back home, he was standing in the yard with his hands on his face and very confused.

He had some pretty serious head injury, not being able to remember where he was, who he was, what year it was, how old he was, etc. They thought it would pass after a couple of hours, but it went on through the night and into this morning.

Brother Joel has a condition called Von Willebrand. So they've had to watch for that too.

Bruce and I went to see him this evening. He was doing much better with his memory, but there are still things he can't remember. He looked really beat up and his eye was hurting. There's a great deal of swelling and if it weren't for the great meds they have him on, I think he would be in some very bad pain.

I am an advocate for "Just Say No To Drugs" but YAY for morphine when you fall off your roof!

Lord willing, Brother Joel will be able to go home Friday. Please pray for Brother Joel that his injuries will be no worse than they are. That his recovery will be quick. And that he will be back on his feet soon.

And please remember his family. Mrs. Pam has held up pretty good, but is tired and tearsome. Also, I believe this has bothered the children since they were the ones that found him. I know your prayers would be much appreciated.
