Like A Candle
Last weekend, four highschool students that should have graduated with my twin nieces this year were driving down a country road too fast, hit another car and only one lived through it. The driver walked away with bruises to his body and his heart. Knowing that he caused the death of three of his classmates and friends. The driver of the other car, an elderly lady, walked away shook up but unharmed.
I don't know the spiritual welfare of these three individuals, but I do know that if they had never accepted Christ as their Saviour, the tragedy does not lie in the fact that their life was snuffed out at an early age. The tragedy lies in their eternity.
I do not know where their souls are at this moment. But I do know that there is a Heaven and there is Hell.
A Heaven for those who have given their heart to a Christ that loved them enough to die on the cross in their place for their sins. And a Hell for those that reject this same Christ.
Time is but a vapor. The lives of these teenagers is testiment that we are not afforded another moment in time.
My prayer is that everyone who reads this post will see themselves as one of two things. A child of God ready to go when God calls them home. Or a sinner, bound for Hell.
If you have never accepted Christ as your Saviour, now is the time and all it takes is a prayer.
