A New Year Of SIGMA
Bruce and I are once again blessed to be sponsors in SIGMA this year. We are very eager to see how the Lord is going to continue working in our youth group.
Brother RJ has implemented some new things to SIGMA that I believe is going to build some spiritual bonds between the kids. One thing is breaking them up in groups around the room to share prayer requests and pray together. The group I was in tonight opened up and shared a few requests and we're hoping that by the end of the year, they'll be able to share burdens they might not normally share if they weren't used to a more intimate prayer time with one another.
The overall theme this year is Anchoring It Down. With all that's gone on in our youth group this year, Brother RJ wanted to preach to them this year on anchoring down the decisions that have been made in their hearts and minds. I think that is the most appropriate theme he could have come up with.
We have our teams down. Justin is on mine and Bruce's team. Justin is the team leader this year with Jeremy Harmon as their Vice President. The teams voted on their name colors tonight. We are the Pi Gamma Eagles.
This was Hannah's first night in SIGMA. She had a good time and her sponsors are Brother Chris and Dana Weaver. They're great! Hannah loves 'em a lot. Her team is the Nu Delta Fishermen.
RUSH NIGHT will be the end of this month. We're not going all out like in the past, but the kids will still be expected to work and construct the decorations for that night along with deciding the menu for their team.
Harrison moved up to another Patch the Pirate class this year. His teacher is Mrs. Tammy Carter. He was bouncing off the walls when I picked him up, eager to tell all about his night and the point system and so forth. He was glad to get his Patch the Pirate book and ready to do every devotion in it when we got home tonight! LOL
I am so cold right now. I'm going to slip into some warm jammers and hit the sack under my warm covers. I guess I shouldn't eat ice while I sit by the air vent. :P Hope you had a great Wednesday!
