Saturday Evening Post

OK, this has nothing to do with the popular magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, however, this IS Saturday, this IS the evening, and I AM posting. Hence the title.

Today we did the 50's theme with our bus kids. They really seemed to enjoy finally being able to get in this room and see what all the fuss was about.

Just like at our banquets, we fed them cheeseburgers and ice cream.

Of course we had to take some "cool" pictures.

And pictures of just plain purdy younguns.

Most of them wanted their pictures behind the Cadillac.

Everything was ready for the third grade up to teenagers group. They got their choice of plain ice cream or Root Beer floats.

The floats were the choice of the day.

Such pretty faces!!

Bruce received a special gift in his soft drink....a gumball.

When we came home from bus ministry, the kids rested a little bit and started getting ready for rest home ministry. While they were gone, Bruce and I went in his shop and I snagged some pictures of him in the beginning process of making a toy box to fix under a window for Brother RJ and Mrs. Liz. Well, technically, the toy box is for their children. HA!

Here he is shaving the wood he's going to use to make the molding.

Choosing just the right drill bit to design the molding.
Designing the molding.....and that's the last picture I took of him tonight. I'll get some more as he works on it this week.
Remember when I showed you the mandolin? Here's the backside of it. He loves the pretty grain detail. He had the mandolin tucked away nicely in a drawer of a cabinet so dust particles wouldn't get all over it.
