Quiz Bowl
I didn't post anything yesterday because I was too busy and too tired. So now I'm trying to catch up! When you're finished reading this post, make sure you see the pictures of the Emu Field Trip.
Tonight was Hannah's Quiz Bowl for her Patch Class. This is a time when the parents go head to head with their children in Bible trivia. It starts out sort of easy but then the rounds become increasingly harder. In the previous years, the parents have lost the Quiz Bowl, and tonight was no exception. The final score, I am afraid, was 36,000 points for the parents, 72,000 for the children. Oh, dear. What a shame!
Anyway! the theme with Patch was Missions, just like SIGMA, so the decorations were the same. But the atmosphere was highly competitive. We ate our meal, went head to head, and watched the children as they received their awards. It was a lot of funl.
Hannah wanted to eat in China.

Pam and Caleb. He's been living for this moment
all year!
See the kids cheer? They've just scored more points.
On occasion there will be a child who does not have a parent
to go against them in the Quiz Bowl, as was the case here. Justin
stood in for this little boy's parent.
The Paparatzi
The third round consisted of the four kids voted in by their
Patch class to go against their parents for the hardest questions.
Kendra receives the Quiet As A Mouse award. We were
all in shock after that!
Caleb received the Persistence Award
Chelsea received the Servant's Heart Award.
Every year, the students who are moving up to SIGMA
have the opportunity to say something during the award
presentations. Parker, who is moving up, said something
and sang a song about the Mircacle Rose.
Brother RJ welcomes the upcoming SIGMA teens and
challenges them to do their best for the Lord in SIGMA.
Hannah's team, The Trailblazers, won the team points
this year and each child on the team received a medal.
They also told the kids that the ones who scored
75,000 points this year would get to go on a special trip
this summer. Hannah was in that group. She was thrilled!
Hannah won third place this year and received this beautiful
trophy. You Go BABY! Second place went to Cassie and first
place went to Taylor. Y'all did GOOD!

Taylor, Cassie, Hannah. Hannah also received the Psalm 100
award because one of the ways she earned points this year
was playing her flute for the class.
